Helmets are printed to your measurement rather than a one-size shell, so they sit on the head properly instead of being nearly right. Set your circumference below and ask for a quote at that size.
Model diameter about 7.16″, plus clearance for hair and lining.
The picture is illustrative and scales with your measurement. Measured in inches around the widest part of the head, just above the ears. Read the band, but treat it as a guide. The tape measure decides.
Measure around the widest part of the head, just above the ears and across the mid forehead, keeping the tape level all the way round. Snug, not tight. That number is the one that gets used.
If the tape sits over thick hair, add about 0.4″ so the shell still clears. For a child, measure them standing still and slacken the tape back to the same snugness rather than letting them hold their breath.
| Size band | Circumference |
|---|---|
| Toddler | Up to 18.9″ |
| Child small | 19″ to 20.4″ |
| Child medium | 20.5″ to 21.4″ |
| Adult small | 21.5″ to 22.2″ |
| Adult medium | 22.3″ to 23″ |
| Adult large | 23.1″ to 24″ |
| Adult extra large | 24.1″ and over |
The right choice depends on what the part will live with. Heat, water, sunlight and flexing all matter.
| Material | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| PLA | Gifts, signs, name tags and display pieces. Crisp detail and the widest colour choice. | Softens in high heat, such as a hot car or direct sun behind glass. |
| PETG | Workshop parts, brackets and anything that needs to be tougher or see damp and daylight. | Slightly less crisp fine detail than PLA. |
| TPU | Flexible parts such as grips, bumpers, feet and seals. | Too soft for rigid, load-bearing parts. |
Not sure? Tell me where the part will be used and I will recommend one.
From idea to finished print in four steps.
Size, colour, what it is for, plus any photos, sketches or files.
I check it can be printed, suggest a material and confirm price and timing.
Printed, checked and tidied up for collection or postage.
Something made for the job, the space or the person.
Whatever you have: an STL file, a sketch, a photo of the part, or a short description with measurements. Photos with a ruler or coin next to the part help a lot.
Yes. Send a sketch, a photo of the part or the measurements and I will model it. Any design time is included in the quote so there are no surprises.
Run a tape around the widest part of the head, just above the ears and across the mid forehead, then give me that circumference in inches. The sizing section above works the rest out, and a photo of the tape in place is a useful double check.
It depends on size, material, print time and any design work. I give you a price before I print anything.
Either. We agree which when I confirm the quote.
Tell me the colour you want and I will say what is available.
Tell me what you would like made, roughly how big it needs to be and when you need it.
